Who are we?

Wijndomein Waes is responsible for processing your personal data through this website.

We handle your data with care and in line with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Belgian privacy law.

What data do we collect, and why?

We never ask for more data than we need, and we never sell it.

Contact form

Your name, your email address and your question, and if you wish your company and phone number. We only use this data to answer your question, based on our legitimate interest in replying to you, or because you ask us to take steps towards an order or appointment.

Visit request

Your name, your email address, the preferred date and the number of people. We use these to plan and confirm your visit or tasting, which is necessary to carry out the appointment we make with you.

When you send a form, your message arrives in our mailbox, you receive a copy by email, and the message is also kept in the website's management environment.

Email and phone

If you contact us directly, we use your data to help you.

Visiting the website

  • Statistics. We measure visits to the website with Fathom Analytics. Fathom does not use cookies and does not collect personal data: your IP address is not stored and you are not tracked across websites. We only see totals, such as which pages are visited, which website visitors come from, the type of device and the country.

  • Technical data. Like any website, our server logs technical data during a visit, such as your IP address, browser type and time. This is needed to keep the website secure and working properly, and is only kept for a short time.

  • Fonts. To display the website's fonts, your browser loads files from Google Fonts (Google Ireland Ltd.) and Adobe Fonts (Adobe Systems Software Ireland Ltd.). These services see your IP address when doing so.

  • Map. The map of places to buy and enjoy our wines uses map images from OpenStreetMap (OpenStreetMap Foundation). Your IP address is passed on to them in order to show the map.

  • Social media. We link to our pages on Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn. These are plain links: only when you click one do you go to that platform, where its own privacy policy applies.

Age check

Because this website is about wine, we ask on your first visit whether you are 18 or older. We do not store your age or date of birth: your browser only remembers that you confirmed, until you close it.

Who do we share your data with?

We only share your data with parties that help us run the website and our communication: our hosting provider, our email service and our web agency Figure8, which builds and maintains the website. They may only use your data on our behalf and not for their own purposes. Apart from that, we only pass on data when the law requires us to.

Data outside the European Union

We process your data within the European Union as much as possible. Some providers (such as Google, Adobe and Fathom) are part of a group based outside the EU. When data leaves the EU, this only happens to countries that the European Commission considers to offer adequate protection, or under the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.

How long do we keep your data?

No longer than necessary. Messages sent through the contact form, the visit request or by email are kept for as long as we need them to help you, and no longer than two years after our last contact. Data we are legally required to keep longer, for example for our accounts after an order, is kept for as long as the law requires.

Security

We take appropriate measures to protect your data: the website uses a secure connection (https), only authorised people have access to the management environment and the software is kept up to date. Our forms are protected against spam without tracking you.

Your rights

You have the right to:

  • access your data and receive a copy;

  • have incorrect data corrected;

  • have your data deleted;

  • restrict or object to the processing;

  • have your data transferred;

  • withdraw any consent you have given at any time.

Simply send an email to info@wijndomeinwaes.be. We will reply within one month. To prevent misuse, we may ask you to confirm your identity.

Not happy with how we handle your data? Let us know first and we will look for a solution together. You can also always lodge a complaint with the Belgian Data Protection Authority, Rue de la Presse 35, 1000 Brussels, www.dataprotectionauthority.be.

Minors

This website is intended for people aged 18 or older. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.

Cookies

You can read which cookies this website uses in our cookie policy.

Changes

We may update this privacy policy, for example when the website changes. You will always find the latest version on this page, with the date of the last update at the top.
